Halo Channel
UX & visual designer: 2014-2016
The Goal
343 Industries has many entertaining videos, including fully live action TV shows, eSports, and dev vlogs. Halo Channel is a premium video service for Halo fans, including the ability to post to social media and an immersive encyclopedia for the universe. This Xbox console app also spawned companion apps in mobile and tablet sizes.
MY ROLE
As a UX Designer at 343 Industries, I worked with PMs, stakeholders, and developers to delineate the Halo Channel's feature set. I defined the user experience through user flows and UI specs and handed these specs off to my fellow visual designers. The lead visual designer set a style and brand for the app and I, along with other members on my team, used my UI specs to create the rest of the screens in high-fidelity.
For the mobile portion, our lead designer set a branding style that complemented Halo Channel and I lead the experience design for the responsive applications. I created the wireframes, user flows, and a majority of the final product screens.
The visuals provided here are the final product; because I also work in wireframes, user flows, and prototypes, my NDA doesn’t allow me to post some of my work. For more information, please contact me and I’ll be happy to walk through my process.
FINAL DESIGNS
TWITCH CONCEPT
These are some Twitch concepts that didn’t make it to the final product. Users are able to watch live games and receive information through back-end data points about how the each team in Halo (red vs blue) is doing, while also chatting with each other.
